Episode 38 – Young Turks

Episode 38 seen the reunion of Barrientos & DVRS in the Subcity studio after 3 shows apart.

For this joyful occassion both DJ’s had a look in on the distinctive Young Turks label for the Label Focus.  Founded 8 years ago by the A&R Manager for XL Recordings, it’s made a sizeable impression on the electronic music scene not only in Britain, but the world over.

The Residents Mix started off smoothly with some mellow vibes provided by fresh cuts from Benedetto & Farina and Julian Perez.  The mix took a dark and sweaty turn near the with some HUGE Tech tracks from Gerd, Foamo & Bart B More.

As per usual it was a tough choice selecting our top 5.  In celebration of the recent gorgeous weather, man of the moment Todd Terje sneaked into our list.  Also been loving the new tracks from the collaboration between Cleavage & Detroit Swindle‘s own Lars Vegas, as well as the new Moon Boots single.  Although the Sasha remix of London Grammar has been smashing it on the Beatport chart, our number 1 spot just had to go to the new track from Just Kiddin on Eton Messy.
