STREAM: Ejeca – Mellow Sun EP

Moda Black deliver their first release of 2015 with the 2 track ‘Mellow Sun EP’ courtesy of Ejeca and Citizen.  This EP follows another huge year in 2014 for Jaymo & Andy George’s imprint, after the release of Moda Black Vol 3, several features on Radio 1, parties throughout Europe and the collective successes of label acts such as Walker & Royce, Theo Kottis and Hauswerks.

As for the artists on this 2-track EP, 2014 has been a successful year with Ejeca racking up releases on BPitch Control, 2020 Vision and Needwant (to name but a few) and Citizen gaining massive accolades for his releases on MadTech amongst many others.

The original cut from Ejeca is a smooth offering of laid-back piece of warm, lilting house music that conjurs up memories of hazy Balearic afternoons and sun-soaked road trips.  Citizen’s remix, however, completely flips the track, storming straight into late night territory by creating a hypnotic slab of 4am techno.  It’s tough to pick out a favourite as both of these are extremely functional tracks for opposite times of the day.
