STREAM: Fred Everything – (We Lost) The Night EP

Almost 10 years since it’s original inception, the American-based label  Lazy Days Recodings is slowly approaches it’s 50th release.  Having so far had releases from the likes of Lovebirds, Art of Tones, Shur-I-Kan and Ian Pooley, label boss Fred Everything does the honours for their 47th release; ‘(We Lost) The Night’ EP.

Released just last week, the 3-track EP does not disappoint!  In typical Lazy Days style, Fred Everything has polished off each cut with crisp analog synths and hooky bass lines.  Title track ‘(We Lost) The Night’ has a big drive throughout with a groovy bassline complemented by acid-style synths and sharp piano stabs after the breaks.  Various echoing vocals give the track a real peak-time edge.

The last 2 tracks on the EP, ‘Take A Rest’ take on a Dubbier approach.  The original version packs a massive euphoric breakdown in the middle that builds up nicely to the flowing percussion, rave-style pads and bubbling bass.  The second version of this track, ‘Take A Dub’ is rich in bass and raw-sounding percussion as it was actually recorded live in Fred Everything’s studio using an MPC-3000, Eventide pedals, RE-201 and Midas board.

An extremely impressive EP and definitely worth getting your mits on, you can grab an electronic copy for yourself on Lazy Days from Beatport
