Fatty M & Matoa – Dig Deeper feat. Roland Clark

While some may consider 13 an unlucky number, the 13th release from Beef Records is sure to be anything but unlucky.  For their first release of 2015 they’ve tee’d up ‘Split EP’ featuring the talents of Fatty M & Matoa, Roland Clark, JTRP and a remix from on-form Glenn Astro.

The first, and our favourite, cut on the ‘Split EP’is a joint effort between Prague’s Roxy Club resident DJ & bookings manager Fatty M and respected dubstep producer and fellow Czech Matoa.  For ‘Dig Deeper’ the duo whip up adark track with deep mysterious keys and piercing metallic percussion.  The vocals provided by Roland Clark shift the feeling from deep to urgent, that will no doubt send dancefloors into overdrive.

With two original tracks from Fatty M & Matoa, the second half of the EP contains one original from JTRP and a stunning Glenn Astro remix.  For those not in the know, JTRP started their career with two bass heavy releases on T. William‘s ‘Deep Teknologi‘ label and the 3rd track on this EP, ‘Los Santos’, has already been played on the In New DJs We Trust show on BBC Radio 1.

As for the remix from man of the moment Glenn Astro – who’s notched up several noteworthy releases on K7!, Tartlet and Kolour LTD – it’s a slow-mo, scuffed up and spaced out house track with tons of reverb, dusty drums and filtered, jazz keys in the mould of peer Max Graef.

Having already gained support from Jimpster, Roberto Rodriguez make sure you grab a copy of ‘Split EP‘ for yourself when it drops on Beef Records onthe 3rd of April.
