Lotus Disco – Release You

Just in time for Christmas, the London-based label Midnight Riot, which has been at the forefront of the nu-disco & edits scene for the past few years, is dropping their 8th compilation album this December.  Midnight Riot Volume 8 is another bumper album which has some smooth disco cuts sitting alongside straight-talking house tracks and naughty street soul groovers.

We’ve managed to have a sneak peak at the album and it has blown us away.  The label owner Yam Who? handpicked each artist for this release, from well known edit gurus like Late Nite Tuff Guy, The Dead Rose Music Company & 80’s Child to blossoming worldwide talents such as the Mexican group Lemon Mint, French producer Korama and Danish party man Ziggy Phunk.

It’s pretty much impossible to define one cut from the 30-track compilation as a favourite, so here’s one that we just can’t stop grooving to.  Vietnam’s very own Lotus Disco‘s track “Release You” has an infectious bass that, when teamed up with the claps, cowbells and looping vocals, can fit to almost any situation for playing out – be it a track to kick things up a notch near the start or to provide some much needed respite from a heavy session.

We highly recommend you get a hold of Midnight Riot Volume 8 when it’s released later in the month, more tracks than you can shake a stick at and an excellent album mix courtesy of The Dead Rose Music Company to boot!
