Modulearth Ft. Christian Meyer – Blue Note

For their newest release, Apparel Music introduces us to a brand new act; Modulearth. Served up at the end of October, their ‘Blue Note’ EP comprised four magical tracks hand in hand with five great remixes.

The exciting new duo of Nicolas Meyer and Luca Vertulli hail from Milan and, on their debut release, have enlisted the legendary Italian drummer Christian Meyer, veteran of many jazz bands & outfits.  The rich and gorgeous output from this duo is no stroke of luck either, with Nicolas having studied piano for 16 years and Luca being no stranger to synths and tweaking analogue sounds.

Modulearth‘s ‘Blue Note‘ EP is a completely solid fusion between deep and jazz, with jumbled drums, downbeat vibes and plenty of sharp, jazz-styled keys. The remixes from E-dward!, Moony Me, Accatone, Pedro D’alessandro & SCHiLLiNG compliment the originals nicely, taking some of the most jazz-focused elements and merging them with more dance-floor ready vibes.

One of the highlights on this release for us is the title track.  A proper downbeat and unashamed jazzy track that takes plenty of cues from the legendary record label of the same name.  The arrangement on the piece is spot-on, with swinging beats, dreamy synth licks and a bassline & rhode chords that just colour in the whole thing.

As we mentioned, Modulearth‘s debut EP ‘Blue Note‘ is already out on Apparel Music and is easily amongst one of the most interesting releases we’ve heard this year.  You can preview & pick up your copy via Beatport.
