One of the UK’s biggest names at the moment, Josh Butler announces the formation of his first label project.  The inaugural release for ORIGINS RCRDS will be a three-part ‘Heroes of House’ series which will see Josh collaborate with and pay tribute to some of the current and classic House legends.

After his first release on Fractured Beats back in 2009, Josh Botler has slowly but surely cemented his status as one of Britain’s finest house producers & DJ’s.  Now in 2016, after a string of huge releases and a dizzying touring schedule including Australia, Dubai, America and Croatia, he’s making a big statement with this three part series paying homage to some of the genre’s greatest.

What better way to kick off the ‘Heroes of House’ than to collaborate with the one of the unquestionable Fathers of  modern House music, Marshall Jefferson.  His seminal 1986 single ‘Move Your Body’ (The House-Music Anthem) was the soundtrack to an underground generation.  The second Hero on this volume of the series is the recent German tech-house stalwart Santé.  After releasing on Santé’s Avatre imprint this year, it was only a matter of time before a collab between these two modern juggernauts happened.

The first track on this release, ‘In Time’, see’s Marshall’s melodic piano and saxophone work complementing Josh’s trademark sub-bass groove perfectly.  The gorgeous vocals intertwine with the melodies beautifully giving this track a nostalgic feeling that’s no doubt a nod to the early Chicago roots of House.

‘Indigo’, the collab with Santé, harks back to the more contemporary European electronic sound.  The layered percussion, pulsing sweeps and driving synth line combine together to create a track that has an almost natural sense of energy about it.

Released on the 3rd of October, Josh Butler’s first volume in the ‘Heroes of House’ series is the perfect start to his ORIGINS RCRDS imprint.  We can’t wait to see what the next two volumes have in store for us..
