New York-based Nervous Records is set to release a series of compilations in celebration of it’s 25th Birthday.  Volume 1 is already packed with an all-star line-up, including Kim English, Pearson Sound, Byron Stingily & Supernova.

Helmed by Michael Weiss, the renowned Manhattan imprint has played host to some of house music’s most legendary names including Masters At Work, Josh Wink, Kerri Chandler, Todd Terry and Mood II Swing. As a pioneering New York platform the label’s legacy is indisputable, whether with Byron Stingily topping the US Dance charts or Nervous tracks being sampled in major hits by Mariah Carey, New Edition or George Michael. They now celebrate a quarter of a century with a series of fresh productions.

Leading the pack is Hessle Audio’s Pearson Sound with a remix of Francois K’s Atmospheric Mood mix of Kim English’s ‘Learn 2 Luv’ – it’s an energetic and percussive roller featuring a Reece inspired bassline and synth driven breakdowns.

British nu-disco producer Get To Know steps up to provide an uplifting revamp of Byron Stingily’s ‘Stardance’ and Plastik People Recordings boss Marc Cotterell delivers a remix of Innversion ‘Don’t You Ever Give Up’.  Finally, closing off Volume 1, House meets Hip-Hop as Supernova and Black Moon collide on ‘Must Get This’ for a cavernous cut built on rumbling bass and rap vocals.

Set for release on the 19th of December, the first in the series of Nervous Records’ Interpretations is bound to make you chomp at the bit to find out what else they have in store.
