Sam Haas returns to the Silence In Metropolis imprint with his four-track ‘Bloodsugar’ EP, blending a familiar old school vibe with a contemporary twist. Having had one remix and one original released on the label over the past two years, this marks the San Francisco-based producers debut EP for the American imprint.
Hailing from Washington DC, Silence in Metropolis has been gaining a head of steam since it’s inception in April 2013 with 15 acclaimed releases featuring local and international artists like Liam Geddes, Dale Howard, Tanzlife and Leftwing & Kody.
With his ‘Bloodsugar’ EP Sam follows the same formula as his previous releases for the label, blending soulful and deep vibes with the potency of modern house grooves. Through each of the four tracks Sam explores a variety of different avenues for his sounds, from driving tech house grooves and chopped vocals to floating chords and throbbing basslines.
‘All about her’ builds up a sultry sound with slow attacking pads and chunky percussion. The muffled and distorted vocal samples contrast nicely to give an element of playfulness to the track while the atmospherics and keys give it that real summer vibe.
Set for release on Silence In Metropolis at the end of June, Sam Haas’ Bloodsugar EP is made of all the right ingredients to make each track a regular feature in any set.
