Episode 58: Dirtybird / Dom McCearney

It was only a matter of time before the LAVA LAVA crew did a Label Focus in on one of their favourite American labels; Dirtybird. Founded by Claude Von Stroke in 2005, the label has a truly unique image with an output that is almost exclusively aimed on bass-focussed and downright dirty tech house.  The label is also responsible for kicking off the careers of some of the hottest producers in the modern House scene. Residents Barrientos and DVRS had a wealth of tracks to choose from for an extended Label Focus, including some of their favourites from Julio Bashmore, Eats Everything, Justin Martin, DJ Blaqstar & Kill Frenzy.

After a pretty intense Label Focus, the Residents kicked the fortnightly mix off by slowing things down a little with some summer vibes courtesy of Andy Hart, Marsupials and the legendary Kerri Chandler.  Fresh music from SoSure Music‘s on-fire producer Rucks, the infamous Seth Troxler and British producers Flash Atkins and Mark Fanciulli took things up a gear.  The absolute standout track however goes to Quell with his new EP for Waze & Odyssey Street Tracks.

Episode 58 also seen the 5th instalment of the Guest Mix. Providing some sensual electronic music for the final 30 minutes was the man behind the successful Hullabaloo night at one of Glasgow’s favourite Stereo; Dom McCearney.
