Episode 60: Play It Down / Matt Tolfrey

For Episode LX (60, fool) residents Barrientos & DVRS focussed in on Jesse Rose‘s sublime imprint Play It Down. Founded 5 years ago as a sub-label of Made To Play and now arguably one of the hottest underground labels for club-ready and fashionably understated tech house, PID has certainly lived true to it’s motto of “no hype, no big tracks, just tunes to put in your bag and play“. Soundtracking this label focus are some real hot cuts from Oliver $, Mr V, Zombie Disco Squad & Prince Club.

As usual, our mailboxes were overflowing with incredible new music that was aching to get som airtime.  Making the cut was some jaw dropping new material from PBR Streetgang, Juliet Sikora, Lee Van Dowski and Kiko Navarro.  Sealing the deal at the end of the Residents Mix was a sublimely sleazy remix from America’s most infamous duos; Soul Clap.
