Daniela La Luz – Forgiveness EP

Parallel began life when it was founded in 2007 by Daniela La Luz.  What started as a goodbye party for when her friend and fellow university classmate Riet left Belgium and moved to Germany eventually grew into a lifestyle and full time love for dancefloor music diversity.  With each event’s aim to unite house, techno, elektro, acid, ambient, experimental, dub, Chicago, Detroit and everything in between to create truly unique and incredible parties.

While hosting events and playing all over the world, Parallel developed into a booking agency for different artists and a creative family for music and graphics. Now, the vinyl only record label “Parallel” is the long awaited next step.

The innaugural release comes from Daniela La Luz herself, introducing her dancefloor diversity to their newly christened label.  After releasing two albums, a few EP’s and numerous remixes over the years, Daniela demonstrates once more her genre breaking talent and approach.  The combination of all 5 original tracks on her ‘Forgiveness’ EP is very well thought through, with the aim to have one record representing all moods of a set.

Wasting no time to kick off the EP, ‘Red Acid’ brings an old school acid feel layered with airy harmonics and driving percussion to create a track worthy of the peak time set.  The second track on the A side, ‘Morning Red’, provides a much more downtempo and deep vibe with floating keys, oscillating ambience and punchy kicks.

Flipping over, ‘Lazy Eyes’ takes off from where ‘Morning Red’ left. Echoed synth stabs, faint distorted vocals and sharp rimshots help to give this tech groover a sense of energy.  ‘Feel The Future’ fast forwards to 4am with hypnotic vocals, deep ambient chords and glitchy synth licks while the beatless ‘Never Forget The Pinch of Riot’ closes the EP with a track that can potentially suit both the beginning or end of a set.
