DJ Deep – Deep Cuts Vol. 3 (New Horizons)

Renowned French DJ & producer  DJ Deep delivers the third outing in his DJ Deep Cuts series this September on his own Deeply Rooted imprint.

The Parisian selector’s journey began two decades ago when Laurent Garnier booked him at his parties in the French capital during the 90s and since then he’s gone on to build his highly reputable imprint – Deeply Rooted – hosting legends such as Kerri Chandler and Ben Klock, as well as quality names like Francois X, Marcelus, Bleak, Manoo and Mike Dehnert.

More recently he’s made appearances on Rekids and Tresor as well as collaborating with close friend Romain Poncet / Traumer on projects such as Adventice and Sergie Rezza.

Volume three of his Deep Cuts series features two versions of two seperate tracks.  Of the first original,  ‘MKS1’, DJ Deep describes it as a “straightforward house track”.  In a style true to his name, he combines a meandering bassline with a heady synth hook to form a low-slung groove, before the Dub demonstrates intricate percussion for a drum workout aimed at the DJs.

Next up, ‘New Horizons’ is constructed with soothing pads, otherworldly nuances and rich melodies until the Dub concludes the package with a more straight and minimal inspired aesthetic.

DJ Deep Cuts Vol.3 New Horizons continues this excellent run of form from the Parisian and drops on his Deeply Rooted imprint on wax and digital on the16th September.
