PREMIERE: DISSONANCE & INTACT – BLEAK

Glasgow based imprint Flatpack Traxx returns with another no nonsense 4 track EP made for the dance floor from an exciting collab between 2 of the UK’s brightest new talents; Dissonance and Intact.  Coming out on the 26th of September, their ‘Austere’ EP provides a journey through the various sides to the resurgent tech house scene.

The Anglo/Italian producer Dissonance relocated to the UK at an early age and, as a result, was exposed to the strong and ever-changing tide of musical influences that swept through the British scene. His recent productions for the likes of Spain’s Oblack imprint and 2651 Records have drawn upon this exposure, creating rich tech sounds built upon layers of the sounds of Manchester’s underground; warehouse and grime to garage and house.

While both producers play an integral role in the London-based collective Surface Music, this collaboration marks the first foray into production for Intact. He is, however, by no means a newcomer to the scene having been enjoying success as a regular DJ at Egg, of one of London’s hottest clubs.  At the same time, he’s curating the Obzerv Ldn brand and this month has claimed a residency for Manchester based Label ANIMA.

The third track on their EP, ‘Bleak’ pulls no punches as it dives straight in to fat powerful kicks and a constantly shifting arrangement of percussion.  Layered key stabs pave the way for a deep grumbling bass hook while chopped vocals scattered throughout help turn this club groover into a hypnotic peak time gem.

Dissonance & Intact’s powerful ‘Austere’ EP is a bold statement for this exciting new collab and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them.  Set for release on Flatpack Traxx on the 26th of September, this is bound to make you groove.
