GARDEN FESTIVAL 2015

The Garden Festival has just released the complete lineup for its tenth and final season this summer in Tisno.  The organisers for the 2015 Garden Festival have pulled out all of the stops and have signed up some of the worlds finest to soundtrack the last Garden Festival, including Bonobo, Seth Troxler, Jackmaster, Joy Orbison, Nightmares on Wax, Eats Everything, Optimo and over 100 other DJ’s and live acts.

What begun in 2006 has bloomed into an enchanting odyssey and become one of the world’s most revered electronic music events, a sublime blend of holiday and festival under the sizzling sun and star-lit skies.
The seminal event, which first founded and has since helped to inspire the whole Croatian festival scene, announced 2015 would be its last year. Now with its finest ever lineup fully curated in a fitting tribute to everything the team have achieved, the scene is set for a beautiful and beatific conclusion to The Garden Festival’s Adriatic journey.

Nick Colgan, one of the festival’s co-founders, explains that: “We have called the final festival “Going Out With A Bang”, and that is exactly what the lineup is all about! I think this is the best we have ever booked really, so it all feels extra special and perfect for The Garden Festival’s final year – and huge credit to Dave Harvey for getting everyone together! There are some amazing debuts to look forward to, and also some of the regulars who over the years have helped shaped the festival into what it is now are back. It is going to be a very emotional time for everyone – and it is looking like everyone who has ever been to The Garden is coming back one last time! We have always been about family here, bringing everyone together each year, sharing the fun and adventure, and I can’t wait until the summer. We are genuinely humbled by the reaction to this beingthe last Garden Festival, the response has been fantastic. It is going to be a magical finale!”

LAVALAVA’s own Barrientos and DVRS have been heading over to the Garden Festival for the past 3 years, but what makes it stand out from the already burgeoning Croatian festival scene?  For us, the fact that the Garden has kept the attendance relatively small, compared to other popular festivals, gives it a really sociable atmosphere, with crowds coming from all over Europe and beyond.

Of course, the music and artists play a huge part in creating the atmosphere, but the location of the parties is what makes this festival truly special.  Whether it’s the legendary Boat Parties across the dazzling Adriatic, dancing under the sun and stars at the Main Stage or the incredible water-side Beach Bar, partying by the shade of the trees at the Olive Grove stage or watching the sun come up at dawn in Barbarella’s Discotheque are all part of  the unique Garden Festival experience.

Last year DVRS caught up with Waif’s & Strays‘ own Amos and the duo of Jake & Matt  a.k.a Outboxx for a LAVALAVA Special Episode.  Catching up with them at the on-site restaurant, they shared their thoughts on what makes the Garden so special, who they were most excited to see and what they had lined up for the rest of the year.  Alongside these interviews, three special mixes were curated to capture the distinctive vibes and emotions of an afternoon, evening and afterparty at the Garden, including some of the most popular tracks of last year.  For a full tracklist and article, check out our feature on Episode 41 here.
