Episode 61: Dirt Crew / Hotlane

For the 61st instalment of LAVA LAVA we had a love-in for the Berlin-based imprint Dirt Crew Recordings. Since it’s inception in 2004 by James Flavour & Break 3000, the label has become an extremely dependable source of for functional house music with an edge. It’s sound has evolved over it’s 11 years so residents Barrientos & DVRS charted this evolution by playing out their favourite tracks from each year. Expect some real bass-oriented cuts from the likes of Detroit Swindle, Urulu, Mano Le Tough, Jay Shepheard and many more.

The Residents Mix for Episode 61 featured some exclusive material that has been absolutely smashing it for us.  Kicking it all off with some real deep vibes from Maurice Aymard, the crew stepped it up a gear with brand new Deetron, Ronnie Spiteri, Joeski and Josh Butler.   Make sure you check out the last 3 tracks from this mix from Waifs & Strays, Cristoph and Yotto – we’ve been rinsing them ever since they came into our mailboxes.

Rounding things off with some more Berlin sounds in the 8th in our Guest Mix series as the duo Hotlane take to the decks. Having gained high praise the world over for their first full EP released on Gomma last month, Jack & Agnes over deliver a sensational mix overflowing with sun-laced funk, disco and house gems.
